How Does Botox® (Botulinum Toxin) Work?
BOTOX® is a natural, purified protein. It is injected in very small doses into the area where the treatment is required. The toxin then relaxes the muscles responsible for facial expressions smoothering out the lines and wrinkles. When Botulinum toxin is injected, it affects the nerves in the area just around where it is injected.

Are There any Side-Effects?
If Botox side-effects do occur, in most cases they are minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated: some people may develop slight, temporary bruising at the injection site, which can easily be covered by makeup. Very rarely Botox can cause a droopy eyelid, it usually resolves within 3-8 weeks and in the meantime could be treated with eye drops.
