New Year New You with The National Slimming Clinics’ Treatments…

Did you know that on average Britians gain 5lbs in weight between Christmas day and the 1st January? Add that to the pounds that could be piled on as a result of Christmas parties and other festive family get togethers and you can see why one of the top New Year Resolutions is to lose weight.

Here at the National Slimming Clinics we have a number of weight loss solutions so you can shed those extra pounds using a method that suits you and your lifestyle best. We specialise in providing doctor supervised medical weight loss programmes and long term weight management.

The weight loss treatments offered at NSC Clinics are all tailored for you by your own personal weight loss qualified doctor and include:

Appetite suppressants:

Appetite suppressant medication is an effective addition to a calorie-controlled diet in helping you lose weight. By reducing your appetite, they make you feel fuller and less hungry thereby helping you to eat less food and consequently lose weight. The appetite suppressants prescribed at NSC Clinics include phentermine and Diethylpropion which can be taken in tablet or capsule form.

Over Christmas some of our super slimming models who have used our appetite suppressants were showcased on the Mail Online with their incredible transformations. You can read their stories here: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-6519531/Super-slimmers-unveil-jaw-dropping-transformation.html

Weight loss injection:

Last year our weight loss injection hit the press with Kerry Katona losing two stone in 6 weeks from using the same weight loss injection we prescribe at our clinics. Saxenda® is a weight loss treatment containing the medication liraglutide. Saxenda® weight loss injection offers effective and reliable weight loss by controlling appetite, curbing hunger and reducing cravings for sweet and fatty foods. Liraglutide is very similar to a naturally occurring hormone in the body that the intestine releases after eating. It works by acting on receptors in the appetite control centre of the brain making you feel fuller and less hungry.

By reducing your appetite Saxenda® will help you keep to a calorie-controlled diet and achieve your weight loss goals. Medical studies have shown patients treated with Saxenda® achieve significantly more weight loss and maintain that loss compared to patients dieting alone.

Saxenda® requires a daily injection of the medication that you will administer with an easy-to-use pre-filled injection pen. Your NSC Clinics doctor will show you how and where to inject at your initial appointment.

Chromium:

Eaten too many sweet treats over the Christmas holidays and are now craving chocolate? Well do not panic as Chromium that we offer here at NSC Clinics curbs sweet cravings allowing you to reduce the amount of calories you take in.

Chromium is a naturally occurring mineral and helps to support stable blood sugar control. Chromium is in a variety of food sources; however it tends only to be in very small doses and therefore many people may be unaware that they are chromium deficient or bordering on it. Low chromium levels can result in a fluctuating blood sugar levels and result in a lack of energy, sweet cravings and hunger pangs that can contribute to weight gain. Chromium helps to enhance the action of insulin, the hormone released by the pancreas, that is critical to metabolism and management of body stores of carbohydrates, fats and protein. Therefore, taking chromium can help to maintain more steady blood glucose levels and reduce food cravings and hunger pangs. Chromium can be taken every day and is a helpful supplement to your weight loss treatment.

Xenical:

Xenical® reduces the absorption of approximately 30% of the fat in a meal, which will then pass through the bowel unabsorbed. It can be a helpful aid in reducing calorie intake as part of a healthy eating plan.

Xenical® can be taken immediately before, during or within 1 hour of eating a meal. It can be used up to 3 times a day, around each of your 3 main meals. Xenical® has very few side-effects, most of which are gastrointestinal due to the dietary fat passing unabsorbed through the bowel. Your NSC doctor will talk to you more about this and what to expect if you are prescribed Xenical®.

Diet and exercise:

Alongside your slimming medication your doctor will talk you through a diet and exercise plan to help you lose weight and become healthier. You will also be given a diet guide and diary to help you plan your new meals and record your food and exercise patterns each week.

Buying slimming aids online:

NSC Clinics are aware it is possible to buy many types of slimming medication online but we strongly advise you not to for your own health. Slimming medication should only be taken under the supervision of a doctor or healthcare professional. Their guidance on whether a medication is suitable for you, the dosage and possible side effects is crucial.

More than half of all medication bought online is fake. In the last 5 years the MHRA have seized nearly £4 million worth of fake weight loss medication*and have consistently warned of the dangers of buying online. When buying slimming medication online there is no guarantee that the products you are ordering are genuine or safe for you to take. We would advise that you only to buy prescription medication from CQC registered or licensed clinics or websites which are strictly regulated. Finally, you simply might not even be suitable for a particular medication. Be safe, get advice from a GMC registered Doctor at a specialist weight loss clinic. * Quoted from BT Dec 2017
