“I haven’t always been overweight, it was more of a recent problem, but due to my weight gain I was concerned about diabetes. I have tried to lose weight before…but I just put it on! I used to love biscuits – this was my main downfall. I used to be so breathless and have back problems but then I saw the results that my friends were getting with their weight loss and found out they were going to NSCC. So I thought that it was worth a try.

It has been very easy to lose weight with NSCC and the staff have been very supportive. I am now more energetic, there is so much less stress on my bones and I look and feel so much better. And I even find it easy to maintain!

What was your starting weight and what are you now?

It was 11.9 stone, now it’s 9.4 stone.

How do you deal with boredom in your dieting program?

I don’t get bored – I’ve learned so much about eating healthily, it’s all about moderation.

What are your three best dieting tips you’d like to share?

1. Don’t deny yourself – just eat fresh fruit, veg etc.
2. Get active even if it’s house work or walking – it’s energizing and the more active you are the more energetic you become.
3. Don’t worry if you gain a pound or two, that’s normal – it will go again and more.

Are there any foods that you completely avoid and never eat?

Any processed food and I avoid alcohol.

What would you say to someone who wanted to lose a large amount of weight?

Go to NSCC and they will help you with everything in a safe and controlled way so that you can keep the weight off.
